KFC is embarking on a comprehensive global transformation of its brand, menu, and restaurant experience, with the UK and Ireland chosen as the initial launchpads for these significant changes. The fast-food giant aims to re-energise its offering in an increasingly competitive quick-service chicken market by focusing on modern consumer preferences for convenience, customisation, and flavour.

A central pillar of the revamp is an expanded emphasis on boneless chicken items, designed to facilitate dipping, dunking, and solo snacking. This will be complemented by an extensive new global sauce 'pantry' featuring over 20 distinct flavours. These sauces, ranging from contemporary twists on classics to internationally-inspired options like Chimichurri Ranch and Hot Honey Habanero, will allow markets to tailor choices to local palates, enhancing personalisation and flavour exploration for diners.

Beyond food, KFC is also innovating its beverage offerings with the global launch of KWENCH by KFC. This platform introduces a range of new drinks such as Boba Refreshers, Krunch Shakes, Sparkling Lemonades, and Iced Coffees. These options, which have already seen pilot success in select UK and Ireland locations, are designed to cater to a growing demand for 'feel-good indulgences' throughout the day, extending KFC's appeal beyond traditional mealtimes.

The physical restaurant experience is also set for a significant overhaul. KFC plans to open a new generation of spaces that prioritise hospitality and adapt to different dining occasions throughout the day, moving beyond a sole focus on efficiency. These next-generation designs are intended to elevate the dining environment, with initial expressions of this vision expected to appear in locations such as McKinney, Texas, and a two-storey restaurant in Dubai later this year.

In the coming weeks, customers in the UK and Ireland will begin to see these changes implemented, including new tenders and nine of the bold new sauces, alongside refreshed branding across KFC's communications and digital platforms. This phased global rollout is expected to expand to Australia and the US, with further markets following through 2026, marking a significant strategic shift for the iconic chicken brand.
