Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris has announced the launch of his own junior team, LN4 Fusion, and a parallel driver development scheme, the LN4 Legacy Programme. The initiative aims to support young drivers on their journey towards Formula 1.
LN4 Fusion, launched near Monza ahead of the Italian Grand Prix weekend, is set to run teams across various feeder categories starting next year. These include the Italian F4 Championship, FIA Formula Regional European Championship, and FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2027. There is also an aim to compete in Formula 2 next year, though the application process for this is not yet complete.
The LN4 Fusion team will be run by Rene Rosin, founder and former boss of Prema. Norris will co-own the project with an investment group led by businessman Dan Richards. The main headquarters will be in Veneto, Italy, with a UK arm in Cambridgeshire, led by Dan Hazlewood, which will run a programme in British F4. Julian Rouse, formerly head of a similar programme for the Alpine F1 team, will run the young driver programme.
Norris stated that getting to Formula 1 requires more than just talent, emphasising the need for the right support and opportunities. He added that LN4 Fusion is about building a competitive race team, while the LN4 Legacy Programme is designed to help talented young drivers secure opportunities they might otherwise miss.
