Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris has come face-to-face with his waxwork likeness at Madame Tussauds London. The 26-year-old, who drives for the Woking-based McLaren team, spent time earlier this year working with the world-famous Baker Street attraction on the creation of his doppelganger.
The figure, dressed in a signature papaya-coloured McLaren race suit donated by Norris, will be unveiled to the public on 30 June, ahead of next month's British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Norris, who was born and grew up in Somerset, described the experience as 'pretty cool', saying: 'Is it weird if I compliment myself?'
He added: 'Seeing the figure finished and being able to stand next to it is surreal. The artists have really nailed the details too, it's so lifelike. I'm very happy with it and can't wait for everyone to come and see it this summer.'
The wax model includes a replica of the helmet worn by Norris when he clinched the F1 drivers' championship. It will appear in Madame Tussauds London's Culture Capital zone, taking pole position alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mo Salah, Mary Earps, and Anthony Joshua.
