The Laver Cup returns this weekend, with three days of competition at London's O2 Arena featuring some of tennis' biggest stars.
Carlos Alcaraz is the headline draw on his return to action following his quarter-final exit at the US Open, which was his first tournament back from an injury layoff lasting nearly five months. The Spaniard plays for hosts Team Europe, captained by Yannick Noah, with US Open champion Alexander Zverev and rising stars Jakub Mensik and Rafael Jodar also part of the squad. British player Arthur Fery is involved as an alternate.
The opposition, Andre Agassi's Team World, features world No 9 Alex de Minaur, former grand slam finalist Taylor Fritz and in-form Francisco Cerundolo.
The exhibition tournament, named after Australian tennis great Rod Laver, is tennis' equivalent of golf's Ryder Cup. It features five sessions played over the course of three days, with four matches on the first two days. Teams accrue points over each match, with one point available for each match on day 1, two points for each on day 2, and three for each on day 3. The first team to win 13 points is named the winner. If the two teams are level on points after 12 matches an extra doubles match is played to determine who wins.
Viewers in the UK can watch the Laver Cup on Sky Sports Tennis. The competition takes place from Friday 25 September to Sunday 27 September.
On Day 1, the day session from 1pm features Casper Ruud v Francisco Cerundolo and Jakub Mensik v Brandon Nakashima, while the night session from 7pm includes Rafael Jodar v Alexander Bublik and Carlos Alcaraz/Jakub Mensik v Alexander Bublik/Taylor Fritz. Day 2's day session from 1pm has two singles matches, with the night session from 7pm featuring one singles match followed by one doubles match. Day 3's day session from 12pm includes a doubles match if required, followed by one to three singles matches.
