The narrative of 'Possible Love' centres on two couples. Jeon Do-yeon and Sul Kyung-gu portray Mi-ok and Ho-seok, a married couple from a blue-collar background with a young son. Ho-seok is depicted as angry and depressed, struggling with a drinking problem following a factory strike.
They encounter a wealthy couple, Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong) and her hedge fund-guy husband Sang-woo (Zo In-sung), at a colleague's funeral. Ye-ji, a documentary director, seeks to befriend Mi-ok and Ho-seok, sensing their story could be compelling for her work.
The film explores the dynamic between the couples, with Ye-ji intrusively documenting their lives. Mi-ok sees potential therapy in discussing their experiences, while Ho-seok is more reluctant, possibly due to the painful comparison of their lives with the wealthy couple.
