Veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, 38, delivered a stunning hat-trick to power Poland to a dominant 6-0 victory over 10-man Romania in the Nations League. The match saw Romania's Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin, currently on loan at Fiorentina, receive a red card in the 22nd minute, after which Poland dismantled their opponents in Warsaw.
Lewandowski initiated the scoring from the penalty spot and then doubled Poland's lead early in the second half. An own goal, along with strikes from Piotr Zielinski and Jan Bednarek, further extended the advantage before Lewandowski completed his seventh international hat-trick, bringing his total international goals to 92.
In the same group, there were emotional scenes as Edin Dzeko, 40, made his final international appearance for Bosnia-Herzegovina in their 1-1 home draw against Sweden. Dzeko, an ex-Manchester City forward, had a goal disallowed in the first half. He received a standing ovation when substituted after 62 minutes in Zenica, with celebrations continuing post-match, including a guard of honour and a drone show.
Elsewhere in the Nations League, Kevin de Bruyne scored twice as Belgium secured a 3-0 win against Turkey, moving them to second in Group A1. Liverpool defender Milos Kerkez scored the sole goal as Hungary beat Georgia in Budapest, marking their first Nations League win of the campaign.
