Lime is introducing a new option for commuters to access its e-bikes more affordably through the Cycle to Work scheme. This initiative allows workers to pay for an annual Lime subscription using salary sacrifice, which could reduce the cost by up to 47 per cent, depending on their tax band.
Under the new offering, employees can purchase an annual Lime subscription, which includes 500 minutes of riding each month, for £635 before tax savings. This equates to £52.92 per month, with the cost potentially falling to £38.10 for basic-rate taxpayers, £30.69 for higher-rate taxpayers, and £28.05 for additional-rate taxpayers.
The benefit will be available across all of Lime’s UK e-bike operations. This includes major cities and regions such as London, Milton Keynes, Oxford, the West Midlands, and Nottingham. This move represents a shift from the traditional Cycle to Work model, which has primarily focused on helping workers purchase their own bicycles.
