Lincoln City have confirmed Tom Shaw and Chris Cohen as their new joint head coaches as the club prepares for its return to the Championship. The duo, who previously served as assistants, step into the roles following Michael Skubala's departure for Bristol City.
Skubala guided the Imps to promotion with 103 points, marking the club's first appearance at this level in 66 years. Shaw and Cohen's appointment aims to provide continuity for the squad, with the club promoting from within.
The new head coaches are currently making final preparations for Lincoln City's opening Championship fixture this Saturday, an away game against Middlesbrough at the Riverside. Cohen stated that he and Shaw "see football the same way, we see life the same way, we see our principles are very, very similar," which he believes gives them a strong chance of success.
Lincoln City has also been active off the pitch, issuing 14 new contracts since their promotion, alongside two permanent signings and three loan deals. The club is planning a £9m upgrade to its ground and training site, with further expansion anticipated.
