Michael Desronvil, the only holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial, has spoken in his first interview since a mistrial was declared on 4 September. Mr Desronvil told Fox News on Thursday that he never had any reasonable doubt that Lindsay Clancy was guilty of first-degree murder.
He stated his decision was based strictly on the evidence presented during the trial. Mr Desronvil described "tense deliberations" in the jury room, adding that he felt decisions were being swayed and he was not always listened to.
The jury, composed of nine women and three men, voted 11-1 to acquit Ms Clancy after seven days of deliberations. Ms Clancy admitted to strangling her three children in January 2023 but pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Prosecutors have not yet announced if they will seek to try Ms Clancy again.
Judge William Sullivan of Plymouth county superior court previously rejected a motion from Ms Clancy's lead defence attorney, Kevin Reddington, to override the deadlocked jury's vote and declare Ms Clancy not guilty.
