England's women's team delivered a commanding performance, beating Greece 5-0 in the second leg of their World Cup qualifying playoff semi-final. This victory at the King Power Stadium secured an 8-1 aggregate win for the Lionesses, moving them closer to a World Cup spot.
Lauren James was instrumental, scoring two goals and providing an assist in a strong first-half display. Alessia Russo also netted a brace, with her goals coming either side of the break. Georgia Stanway contributed another goal, completing the rout.
The win sets up a two-game playoff final against Ukraine, scheduled for November and December. England had previously defeated Ukraine 9-1 on aggregate in their World Cup qualifying group earlier this year.
