Liverpool face £70m price tag for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh

Liverpool have had two bids for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh rejected, with the Seagulls reportedly valuing the winger at £70m.

  • Brighton have rejected Liverpool's bids of £50m and £60m for Yankuba Minteh.
  • Brighton reportedly value the Gambian winger at £70m.
  • Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is keen to strengthen his attack before next Tuesday's transfer deadline.

Liverpool will need to pay £70m to secure the signing of Yankuba Minteh from Brighton, after the Reds saw two bids for the winger rebuffed. Brighton are reportedly holding firm on their valuation of the 22-year-old Gambian.

Liverpool's initial offers of £50m and £60m were both rejected by Brighton. The club could reportedly return with a third, improved offer before the transfer deadline next Tuesday.

Brighton's valuation is thought to be influenced by Carlos Baleba's impending £70m move to Manchester United. Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is reportedly keen to add a forward to his squad to provide genuine width, despite the team securing a 2-2 draw against Newcastle on Sunday.

Iraola, who has already recruited centre-backs Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo, along with winger Victor Munoz, stated to Sky Sports that "some deals you have to wait until the end." He added, "We are still quite thin."
