Liverpool's owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), is in ongoing talks with a consortium led by British-Indian millionaire Amit Bhatia regarding a strategic minority investment in the club. A potential deal could value Liverpool at more than £4.5 billion.

  • FSG confirmed last week that a consortium led by Amit Bhatia is in talks for a strategic minority investment.
  • A deal with the Bhatia-led consortium could value Liverpool at over £4.5 billion, according to the Financial Times.
  • Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan stated that FSG remains committed to the club, despite the potential minority investment.

Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the owner of Liverpool Football Club, is currently engaged in discussions with a consortium led by British-Indian millionaire businessman Amit Bhatia concerning a strategic minority investment. These talks have been ongoing since FSG confirmed them last week, with a growing belief that a deal will be finalised.

According to the Financial Times, such a deal could value Liverpool at more than £4.5 billion. Billy Hogan, CEO of Liverpool and FSG, stated that the principal owner, John Henry, and FSG have consistently indicated they would consider investment that benefits the club.

Hogan, who has been with FSG since their £300 million purchase of Liverpool in 2010, emphasised that the company remains committed to the club. He clarified that this development should not be interpreted as a sign of FSG, which also owns the Boston Red Sox, stepping away.

Liverpool reported the highest revenue in the Premier League at £702 million and was fifth in the Deloitte Football Money League. Hogan highlighted the club's trajectory and direction, noting that all investment since 2010 has been reinvested to run the club sustainably.
