Liverpool are preparing to initiate formal club-to-club talks with Paris St Germain regarding a potential move for winger Bradley Barcola. The 23-year-old, who joined the French champions from Lyon in 2023 for a reported €45 million (£38.6m), has played a key role in their consecutive Champions League victories.
The Merseyside club is keen to bring Barcola to Anfield, but manager Andoni Iraola’s Reds do not intend to meet a reported £145 million asking price for the France international. Barcola recently represented France at the World Cup, scoring three goals, including one in their 6-4 bronze medal defeat by England.
Liverpool are currently on their pre-season tour in the United States, having secured a 4-2 victory against Sunderland and a 1-0 win over Wrexham. New signing Jeremy Jacquet is expected to debut in Sunday’s friendly against Leeds in Chicago, while Victor Munoz, a member of Spain’s World Cup squad, has yet to join the team.
The club is looking to bolster its squad with the new Premier League season just over three weeks away, following the departures of experienced players Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate at the end of June.
