Lloyds Banking Group's apps, including those for Lloyds, Halifax, and Scottish Widows, experienced an outage today, leaving thousands of customers unable to access services. The issue led to a spike of nearly 3,000 complaints on Downdetector during the early Wednesday afternoon.
The banking group stated it was "working to get things back to normal as quickly as we can" in response to user complaints on social media. This marks the second app outage for Lloyds in just over a week.
A Lloyds spokesperson later confirmed that the apps were back up and running. They added, "We’re aware some customers experienced difficulties accessing them for a short period earlier today, and we worked quickly to restore services. We apologise for any inconvenience."
