With a 'Happy Place' score of 64.8 out of 100, visitors have praised the UK capital's diverse attractions for delivering consistently delightful experiences.

The research, conducted by Irish travel insurance company JustCover, pored over more than one million online travel reviews from 155 locations worldwide to create a 'Happy Place' score for each destination. This analysis highlights where visitors tend to report the most joyful times during their travels.

Top of the list was Positano, an Italian seaside town famous for its pastel-coloured buildings, stunning sea views and iconic Spiaggia Grande beach. The area's enduring popularity in media and social feeds suggests it remains a top choice for couples seeking romance and picturesque settings.

The rest of Europe's top ten happiest destinations included the Greek island of Santorini (64.8), Montenegrin town of Kotor (67.9) and Italy's Florence (67.1) and Rome, which took tenth spot with 66.4. Other cities like Istanbul, Munich and Gdańsk also made the list, showcasing the continent's diverse range of appealing locations.

London's strong performance can be attributed to its lively cultural scene, including major sporting events, world-class West End productions, top concerts and prestige exhibitions. The analysis suggests visitors consistently enjoy their time in the capital, solidifying London's status as a leading global city for tourism and leisure.
