London commuters face another weekend of travel headaches as Transport for London (TfL) reveals planned closures across several Tube lines. The disruptions will see key routes suspended or severely limited, leaving thousands to seek alternative transport or plan their journeys carefully.
The Piccadilly Line is set to be the worst hit, with services cancelled between Acton Town and Uxbridge for the entire weekend. This means passengers must rely on local buses or other Tube lines where available to access stations along this stretch. The Metropolitan Line will also be closed between Aldgate and Finchley Road, affecting journeys into and out of central London from the north-west.
Further disruption is expected on the Central Line, which will close between Leytonstone and Hainault, impacting residents in East London and commuters heading towards the Hainault loop. Meanwhile, the London Overground will undergo partial closure, with no service between Highbury & Islington and Dalston Junction – a move that could severely affect North London commuters.
The Bakerloo Line is also set to experience disruption between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone, a major commuter route serving areas in North West London. These closures are part of TfL's regular maintenance schedule, aimed at upgrading infrastructure and improving the network's reliability.
TfL advises passengers to check their journey planner tools on its website or app for up-to-date information on travel disruptions and replacement bus services. Details will also be available through these channels for those planning alternative routes.
