LumenUs, a grief care platform founded by Sara Tashakorinia, is scheduled to launch in early access this October. The platform aims to alleviate the administrative burden faced by individuals after the death of a loved one by using AI to automate tasks such as finding tax forms, filing insurance claims, and closing bank accounts.
Tashakorinia, who founded LumenUs last year, stated that the startup will initially focus on assisting people in the immediate aftermath of a death. Users will go through an onboarding process to share information about their situation, allowing the platform to personalise tasks and organise them by urgency.
The founder, who has a background in cybersecurity, is building LumenUs with co-founders Sajad Mirzaei and Larry Keeley. The team is also consulting with clinicians and social workers during product testing. LumenUs is a participant in TechCrunch’s upcoming Startup Battlefield 200.
