The UK is set to welcome a new luxury hotel in one of its most iconic landmarks. Waldorf Astoria London, situated within the historic Admiralty Arch, is scheduled to open its doors to overnight guests in autumn 2026 after an extensive restoration of the grade-I listed monument.
Located on the opposite end of the Mall to Buckingham Palace, close to Trafalgar Square, the arch was commissioned by King Edward VII in memory of Queen Victoria and designed by Sir Aston Webb, the architect behind the Buckingham Palace facade.
The hotel boasts 114 rooms and suites, with some named in reference to the building's history and naval heritage. Two dining options, Coreus and rooftop Café Boulud, from Michelin-star chefs Clare Smyth MBE and Daniel Boulud, will celebrate British produce, with curated whisky collections and afternoon teas.
A grand ballroom spanning 3,540 square feet will host gala dinners, while a private spa with treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room, and hydrotherapy pool is on offer for guest relaxation. Room reservations are now open for stays starting in 2027.
General manager Guillaume Marly expressed his excitement, stating, 'We can't wait to reawaken Admiralty Arch, transforming a national monument into a destination that feels unmistakably London: historic in stature, contemporary in spirit.'
This development is set to further boost London's hotel scene, offering tourists an unparalleled luxury experience within a historic landmark.
