Mad Cool Festival is gearing up to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a major transport overhaul, set to transform travel to and from the Iberdrola Music Villaverde site. A collaborative effort between Madrid City Council, the Government Delegation, and local law enforcement agencies has secured extended public transport services for 2026 attendees.
Madrid Metro Line 3 will now run until 2am on Thursday morning and 3am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings, exclusively for departures from Villaverde Alto station. Cercanías Line C4 services will also be extended to 2am on Thursday and 3:30am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings from the same station.
One notable innovation is the introduction of free Cercanías Line C4 trains running directly from Villaverde Alto to Atocha. Dedicated access lanes at Villaverde Alto will be established for both Metro Line 3 and Cercanías Line C4, aiming to manage passenger flow efficiently.
A complimentary shuttle bus service will also operate from the festival grounds to Madrid city centre between 12:30am and 2am on Thursday morning, and from 1:30am to 3:30am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Pre-booked taxi and private hire pick-up points have been designated to alleviate congestion and ensure visitor safety.
The expanded transport plan is a direct response to feedback from previous years' attendees, who faced logistical challenges during the festival. With a packed line-up featuring Pulp, Foo Fighters, Florence & The Machine, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, this year's event promises to be one of the most memorable yet.
The transport upgrades are part of broader site improvements for 2026, including reduced stages, expanded viewing screens, and increased shaded areas. These enhancements aim to provide a more enjoyable experience for the tens of thousands of visitors expected at Mad Cool Festival this summer.
