Pop legend Madonna is set to open the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) ceremony on September 27 at 8pm ET. This performance will be her first at the awards show in 23 years.
Madonna is the most-nominated artist at this year's VMAs, with eleven nods for categories including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year. These nominations follow the release of her new album, 'Confessions II'.
Her previous VMA performances include her debut in 1984 with 'Like A Virgin' and her 1990 performance of 'Vogue'. Her last VMA appearance in 2003 involved a kiss with Britney Spears.
Other artists nominated at this year's VMAs include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, and Sabrina Carpenter. The Song Of The Year category features artists such as BTS, Olivia Dean, and Raye.
