A four-year-old boy, Robert Henry Steele, died after a collision involving an off-road motorbike and a car in Newark, Nottinghamshire, on Sunday. Police were called to Churchill Drive at 18:00 BST.
Robert Henry, who was a passenger on the motorbike, was pronounced dead at the scene. His mother, Tilly Robinson, described him as "a big character, full of love, big smiles and cheeky charm".
Brian Cameron, 32, of Chatsworth Road, Newark, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and causing death by driving while uninsured and unlicensed. He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
A 24-year-old man, who was also on the motorbike, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in hospital with serious injuries. Police stated the bike was travelling in convoy with a second bike, whose rider left the scene before officers arrived.
