A man has been charged in Western Australia after police said they discovered approximately 3.5 grams of methylamphetamine in a ziplock bag. The bag was reportedly found wedged between the bacon and egg of a McMuffin meal during a car search on 20 August.
Police stated the 39-year-old man was observed entering and leaving a house under surveillance as part of a drug operation in Broome, in WA’s Kimberley region. He was stopped for a car search a couple of streets away at around 2.10pm.
During the search, officers reportedly found a bag containing hot food from Chicken Treat, along with a cold McMuffin. Senior Constable Ben Lucas said the McMuffin, secreted at the bottom of the bag, drew their attention.
The Derby man has been charged with one count of possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply. He is scheduled to appear before the magistrates court on 9 September. A woman also in the car was released after questioning.
