Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has addressed supporters in a statement following media reports that the club is expected to be found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules. The club has been under investigation since 2023 over 115 charges.
Reports of an expected verdict, suggesting City will be found guilty of 114 charges, began circulating on Friday, 25 September. However, the Premier League has not yet issued an official statement, and the investigation remains legally sensitive, private, and confidential.
In his statement, posted on the club's website, Al Mubarak insisted on Manchester City's innocence. He told his family, and subsequently supporters, that "The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began." He also noted that strict confidentiality prevents him from sharing more details at this time.
