Manchester City have reportedly entered the race to sign Liverpool and Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo, 27. Tottenham are also said to be working on a deal for the player.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City to sign Spain midfielder Nico Gonzalez, 24. The deal is reportedly worth £47m plus an additional £3m in add-ons.
In other transfer news, Manchester United are confident of persuading Arsenal to sell England's Myles Lewis-Skelly, 19. However, the reported asking price of more than £50m for the player, who can play left-back and midfield, remains a sticking point.
Newcastle have also submitted an offer worth 40m euros (£34.2m) excluding bonuses for Lille and Belgium forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo, 21. Chelsea have had three bids rejected this summer for Bournemouth and England midfielder Alex Scott, 23.
Hull have submitted a 21m euros (£17.9m) offer for Union Berlin and Germany Under-21s forward Ilyas Ansah, with talks over a long-term contract reportedly at an advanced stage. AC Milan are considering a late transfer window move for Manchester United and Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui, 28.
Coventry have agreed a £6m deal to sign Brentford and Jamaica defender Ethan Pinnock, 33. Monza will offer former Tottenham and England midfielder Dele Alli, 30, a one-year contract; he has been without a club since leaving Como in September 2025.
