A man has died after getting into difficulty in the water off the north-east Essex coast. He was brought ashore at Frinton-on-Sea but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police and paramedics were called to the beach, near The Esplanade, at about 14:00 BST. An air ambulance also landed on the town's Greensward.
An Essex Police spokesman stated that the man's family has been informed and is being supported. Emergency service personnel remain at the scene, and the public has been asked to avoid the area.
This incident marks the fourth death at sea in Essex in just over a week. Three people died following an incident in West Mersea on 22 July, including seven-year-old Musa Ahmed, his 15-year-old cousin, and her 41-year-old mother. Additionally, a man was taken to hospital in critical condition on Saturday after being pulled from the water near Clacton Pier, with two others also rescued.
