A man has been jailed for more than seven years after he rammed a stolen tractor into a family's home in Middlesbrough. Nathan Blagg, 28, was sentenced to seven years and two months in prison, with an additional two years on extended licence, following the incident.
Teesside Crown Court heard that Blagg stole a £30,000 Massey Ferguson tractor from a farm near Yarm on 9 May, before driving it nine miles to Priory Road in Middlesbrough. He then smashed the tractor through the front wall of a mid-terrace home in the early hours of the morning.
The court was told that the attack was part of a feud between Blagg and the homeowners' son, which reportedly began after a video was posted online showing the desecration of Blagg's father's grave. The family had moved out of the house shortly before the ramming due to prior attacks, though they had not informed anyone of their departure.
Blagg admitted aggravated vehicle taking, damaging property being reckless as to whether life was endangered, affray, and stealing a pensioner's car. The house was extensively damaged and would effectively need to be rebuilt, while the stolen tractor was written off by insurers for £17,000.
