A man who repeatedly slashed a stranger after an argument in Nottingham city centre has been jailed for seven years and six months.
Shaki Robinson, 49, of Radford Road, Nottingham, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday. He admitted to multiple offences, including wounding with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.
Nottinghamshire Police said the victim and his girlfriend intervened when they saw Robinson acting aggressively towards a woman in Angel Row in the early hours of 22 November 2025. Following an argument, Robinson chased the man into Beastmarket Hill, stabbing him in the back, face, and shoulder.
Robinson also pleaded guilty to assault on an emergency worker and possession with intent to supply cocaine. He later admitted possession of heroin and cannabis during the investigation. Officers found wraps of suspected Class A drugs and large amounts of cash when he was searched.
Det Con Natalie Gooderham stated that Robinson not only violently attacked the victim but proceeded to walk through the city centre brandishing a knife. She added that it must have been frightening to witness and thanked members of the public who assisted officers in detaining Robinson and recovering the weapon.
