Jonno Stubbs, a JCB fork-lift truck driver, met firefighter Jack Gaskell on Monday, months after the incident in February. Mr Stubbs described the fall as a "freak accident" that occurred while he was building a workshop.
Mr Stubbs suffered multiple injuries, including a broken foot and a broken back, and was treated for hypothermia. He remained in hospital for three weeks following the rescue.
Mr Gaskell, who was lowered into the well to fit Mr Stubbs with a harness, said it was the first time in his 22 years of service that someone he rescued had tracked him down. The reunion took place at Knutsford Fire Station in Cheshire, with Mr Stubbs stating it gave him "a little bit of closure".
