Patrick Fox, 75, has published his life story, 'Six Hail Marys and a Bag of Chips', detailing his childhood experiences, including time spent in a notorious care home.
Mr Fox, from Worcestershire, said he found writing the book an emotional process, stating, "I cried like a baby." He added that sharing his experiences helped him feel a weight had been lifted.
Born in 1950, Mr Fox spent his early years hidden in an attic before moving to the Father Hudson Society's home in Coleshill, Warwickshire. While he was not sexually abused himself, he stated he was aware of abuse carried out against young boys by a priest at the home.
In 1998, Father Taylor was jailed for sexually abusing boys at the orphanage between 1957 and 1965. He died in prison in 2001. The Father Hudson's Caritas charity has stated, "We acknowledge and deplore the crimes for which Eric Taylor was convicted."
After leaving the home at 15, Mr Fox spent two years on the streets before becoming an engineer, starting his own business, and raising a family.
