Manchester United have submitted a £60m bid for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, as they look to bolster their midfield ranks. The offer, which could increase by £5m, marks a renewed interest in the Cameroon international, whom United first targeted last summer.
While talks are progressing, Brighton is reportedly seeking a higher price for the 22-year-old. His valuation has reportedly dropped after a challenging year, having been valued at over £100m by Brighton last summer.
United has already secured two midfield signings this transfer window, bringing in Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48m and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35m. The club has seen Casemiro depart, while Manuel Ugarte is sidelined and Mason Mount has missed recent pre-season friendlies. Baleba is currently recovering from an ankle problem, but this is not expected to be a long-term issue or prevent a transfer.
