Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information about the whereabouts of Marwan Jumaa, 20, who escaped from hospital in Greater Manchester on Tuesday evening. Jumaa is serving a sentence for attacking two women and is considered a risk to himself as well as other people, according to the police.
He absconded after being transferred from a secure hospital facility to North Manchester Hospital for medical treatment. The police have described Jumaa as having a skinny build, with short dark hair and standing at around 5ft 10in. He is believed to have links to Bury, Prestwich, and Crumpsall in Greater Manchester, as well as Leeds and London.
Det Ch Insp Abigail Cronin has urged the public to come forward with any information about Jumaa's whereabouts. She assured the community that officers are working around the clock to find Jumaa and return him to hospital as soon as possible.
'If sighted, do not approach him, please call 999 immediately,' Det Ch Insp Cronin said. The police are working to track down Jumaa and ensure public safety.
The incident has heightened concern within the community, but the police are reassuring residents that they are taking all necessary steps to locate Jumaa.
As the search for Jumaa continues, residents in affected areas are being advised to remain vigilant and report any sightings to the police immediately.
