Marika Hackman has announced her new album, 'False Dogs', which is scheduled for release on February 19 via Chrysalis Records. This marks Hackman's fifth studio album.
The album explores themes related to the mid-thirties, including nostalgia and anxieties. Hackman played almost every instrument across the 12 songs, which were developed in her East London studio and completed at Big Jelly Studios in Ramsgate.
Alongside the album announcement, Hackman has also revealed details for her biggest ever UK and European tour. The tour begins on February 26 at London's Royal Festival Hall, followed by UK dates in Bristol, Glasgow, and Manchester in early March. European shows commence on March 6 in Amsterdam and conclude on March 17 in Stockholm.
Pre-sale tickets for the tour will be available from October 22 at 10am BST, with general on-sale opening on October 23 at 10am BST.
The album's opening track, '33', was released today, October 14, and features a children's choir. Hackman described the single as grappling with "the dull ache of nostalgia, the apprehension of the future and the celebration of the moments in between – keep pushing, it’s worth it."
