Shares in Marks and Spencer (M&S) experienced a decline of as much as four per cent on Wednesday, reaching 357p. The drop comes as investors express concerns that increasing inflation could prompt consumers to shift away from the upmarket grocer towards more budget-friendly competitors.
M&S, a FTSE-100-listed company, generates more than half of its revenue from its food division.
