David Rebe, a Martin & Co franchise owner, has acquired the Basingstoke operation, expanding his portfolio to three branches within the network. This acquisition is his second expansion since he initially joined the franchise system in March 2024 by acquiring the Oxford and Thame businesses.
The Basingstoke acquisition follows the retirement of the branch’s previous franchise owner. Rebe noted his preference for acquiring established branches with existing teams, stating he would only implement changes that add value to stakeholders.
Rebe's objective from his initial acquisition has been to develop a network of branches, aiming for improved client service through pooled resources and economies of scale. He expressed satisfaction with the support received from The Property Franchise Group, particularly in the current environment of legislative change.
This acquisition reflects broader consolidation trends within the estate agency sector, where businesses are navigating evolving operational challenges, including regulatory changes and technological adaptation.
