Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has completed his transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for a fee of £60m. The deal brings an end to the 25-year-old Brazil international's seven-year stay with the Gunners.
Martinelli, who had 12 months left on his contract at Emirates Stadium, was reportedly told by manager Mikel Arteta that he was not part of the plans for the current season. He made 53 appearances last season, scoring 11 goals, as Arsenal secured the top-flight title.
The move sees Martinelli join a growing contingent of former Premier League players at Al-Hilal, including England striker Ollie Watkins, who arrived from Aston Villa in a £51m deal, and Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville, who joined from West Ham.
Al-Hilal, currently joint-top of the Saudi Pro League alongside Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, are managed by Simone Inzaghi. Martinelli expressed his pride in joining the club, stating, "Proud to be blue, proud to be Al-Hilal," in an unveiling video.
