Martinhal Sagres, situated on the eastern tip of Portugal's Algarve coast, offers a family-oriented resort experience that allows guests to customise their holiday packages. Unlike all-inclusive resorts, a hotel stay includes bed and breakfast as standard, with options for guests in villas and larger houses to go fully self-catered, and all guests able to upgrade to half-board for lunch or dinner. Activities, including kids' clubs, are available at an additional cost.
The resort is spread over 220,000 square metres, featuring more than 130 houses and villas. It is located on a cliff overlooking a sandy beach and is backed by the Costa Vicentina Nature Reserve. Sagres, a surf town and fishing port, is a 20-minute walk away, and Faro airport is a 90-minute drive.
Accommodation options range from a 37-room hotel, which is the most affordable and closest to the sea, to terraced houses, Pinewood Houses with private pools, and large luxury villas that can sleep up to 12 people. The resort has five swimming pools, three of which are heated, and direct access to a secluded beach. There are three restaurants, including Dunas, O Terraco, and Os Gambozinos, along with a cafe-cum-bar and a pop-up barbecue kiosk. Meals must be booked in advance, with sittings starting at 5:30 pm.
