Mary Kate Golding, a distinguished set decorator who contributed to several prominent television and film productions, including the acclaimed series 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel', has been found dead at her New York home following a fatal stabbing. The incident, which occurred in Astoria, Queens, has led to a police investigation.
New York Police Department officers responded to an emergency call concerning an assault at a residence in Astoria early on Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, they discovered Ms Golding, aged 34, with a stab wound to her back. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
Approximately six hours after the initial discovery, police were alerted to an unconscious individual in Astoria Park. Officers identified the man as Joseph Azzaretto, Ms Golding's 33-year-old husband. Authorities stated there were no indications of criminal involvement in Mr Azzaretto's death. The couple's 11-month-old son was found unharmed within their home.
Ms Golding had a notable career in set decoration, with her portfolio including projects such as 'The Flight Attendant', 'Hawkeye', 'Mr & Mrs Smith', and 'Goosebumps', in addition to her work on 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel'. She was reportedly due to work as an assistant set decorator on Sean Durkin's upcoming film, 'Deep Cuts'. She was a graduate of New York University, completing her studies in 2015.
