Scottish football fans had embarked on an incredible journey across the tournament's host nations – the USA, Canada, and Mexico – last month. Their trip may have been cut short after Croatia defeated Ghana in the group stage, but their electric presence in Boston left a lasting impression and earned widespread acclaim.
Captivating Late Night With Seth Myers viewers, Damon waxed lyrical about the Scottish fans' exemplary behaviour, generosity, and unmistakable 'banter'. He regaled the audience with a side-splitting anecdote: "The Scottish fans outside a liquor store in Boston. They booed a woman who walked in and bought a bottle of water – talk about epic!"
Damon highlighted the instant bond formed between Boston locals and Scotland's visitors, joking that they'd "declared themselves sister cities" on the spot. He credited this kinship to their shared cultural connection, saying: "We just knew – 'you guys are just like us'." The Oscar-winning actor, famous for films like 'Good Will Hunting', 'The Martian', and more, even made an appearance at the World Cup final, where Spain edged past Argentina 1-0 in extra-time.
