Matthew Rhys has been awarded Best Actor at the Bafta Cymru Awards, continuing a successful awards season for the actor. This follows his historic win last month at the Emmys, where he became the first person to secure two lead acting prizes in one night.
Rhys received his award at the ICC Wales in Newport for his performance in 'The Beast in Me'. This is his second Bafta Cymru, with his first coming 29 years ago for the Welsh-language film 'Bydd yn Wro', or 'Be Brave'.
The ceremony also saw Lauren Evans honoured with the inaugural Outstanding Contribution to Craft award and Best Casting for her work on 'I Swear'. Presenter Carol Vorderman was recognised with an award for outstanding contribution, while Gabrielle Creevy secured her second Best Actress award.
Other winners included Y Crwydryn for Single Documentary, Mari Grug for presenter in 'Mari Grug: Yn dydd Ar Y Tro', and Matthew Barry for Best Writer for 'The Guest'. In total, 17 awards were presented during the evening, alongside two Bafta Outstanding Contribution awards.
