Mel Giedroyc has disclosed that a remark from host Jimmy Carr spurred her on during her appearance on series two of Prime Video's "LOL: Last One Laughing UK". Giedroyc, 58, made it to the final episode of the comedy series, which challenges comedians to avoid laughing.
Speaking at the Henley Literary Festival on Sunday, 4 October, Giedroyc recounted that after arriving on set with the other contestants, Carr looked at her and said, "Well, you're not gonna last 10 seconds, are you?" She stated that the comment prompted her to think, "No one says that to a Giedroyc, actually," which motivated her to last longer.
Giedroyc is set to return for the third series of "LOL: Last One Laughing UK" as a presenter, joining Jimmy Carr. Roisin Conaty, who previously presented, will become a contestant. The upcoming series will feature comedians including Richard Ayoade, Harry Hill, Lee Mack, and Katherine Ryan.
Prime Video has also announced a Halloween special for the show, scheduled to air on 23 October. This special will include Jack Dee, Tom Allen, Harriet Dyer, Reece Shearsmith, and Phil Wang, alongside returning series one stars Daisy May Cooper and Lou Sanders.
