The facelifted Mercedes-Maybach GLS has been revealed, showcasing updated styling and an enhanced focus on personalisation. Now badged GLS 680, the luxury SUV features redesigned headlights, a new grille, and revised front and rear bumpers, along with Maybach’s signature pattern on the lower air intakes. The range of paint finishes and bespoke options has also been expanded.
Inside, the cabin has been updated with a revised dashboard centred around Mercedes’ wide Superscreen display. Illuminated air vents, rose gold instrument graphics, and an extensive selection of premium leathers aim to reinforce the sense of luxury. Buyers can also choose features such as a large leather roof liner, refrigerated storage for champagne bottles, and massage functions for all four outer seats, including calf massage.
Power for the GLS 680 comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, now paired with a mild-hybrid integrated starter-generator. This setup is quoted to produce around 612hp and 627lb ft of torque, with the electric system adding an extra 23hp boost during acceleration. Mercedes-Maybach states this output roughly matches its previous twelve-cylinder engine but offers quicker response and improved efficiency.
A refreshed Night Series edition is also being introduced, featuring 23-inch forged wheels, dark chrome exterior detailing, and exclusive paint finishes. The interior of the Night Series includes unique black or crystal white leather upholstery and open-pore brown walnut trim with herringbone detailing.
Orders for the updated Mercedes-Maybach GLS will begin in China, followed by the United States and Europe, with US and European order books opening at the end of July. UK availability and pricing have not yet been confirmed by the company.
