Meta's new AI app, Muse, has exceeded 3.4 million downloads since its launch on September 8, driven by strong early reviews and promotion across Meta's platforms.

  • Muse has accumulated over 3.4 million downloads since its September 8 launch, according to Sensor Tower estimates.
  • The app reached the top of the U.S. App Store on September 18 and the Google Play Store on September 19.
  • Meta announced upcoming features for Muse at its Connect conference, including video chat with the avatar and Mac support.

Meta's new artificial intelligence (AI) application, Muse, has surpassed 3.4 million downloads since its launch on September 8, according to recent estimates from market intelligence firm Sensor Tower. This growth follows Meta's promotion of the app at its annual developer conference this week and positive early reviews.

Before the conference, Muse had already achieved an estimated 2.8 million downloads in its first two weeks. Sensor Tower data indicates that daily active users for the app climbed 27% on Wednesday after the Meta Connect event concluded. The app reached the top spot on the U.S. App Store on September 18 and the Google Play Store on September 19, maintaining these rankings.

At the Meta Connect conference, the company announced several upcoming features for Muse. These include video chat capabilities with the Muse avatar, support for computer use on Mac, a dedicated email address, additional partners and connectors, and plans for smart glasses integrations.

While much of Muse's traction is organic, Meta is also promoting the app to existing Facebook and Instagram users. Sensor Tower data shows Meta rolled out house ads for Muse on September 9, with the app receiving the majority of house advertising promotions across Meta's properties within 10 days.
