Michael Stipe has shared 'Hum Desiderata', a new track from his forthcoming solo album. The song is a spoken word piece based on Max Ehrmann’s poem 'Desiderata' and includes additional vocals from artist Elizabeth Hatmaker.

The track is available to listen on the online sound exhibition platform Joyfully Waiting. Stipe previously discussed his solo album and performed 'The Rest Of Ever' on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in April.

The legendary singer stated in April that he has been working on his first full solo album for several years, noting it has taken "longer than I wanted." He added that he is now applying the finishing touches, with an expected release in 2026.
