Tulshi Patel is seeking news of her mother, Jitendra Patel, and aunt, Hema Sunil Amin, who are missing after a flash flood in Nepal. The pharmacist from Milton Keynes found a TikTok video showing her relatives and three other tour members at the border, reportedly waiting to cross into Tibet.
The video was posted on Wednesday morning, just before 06:00 Nepal time. The sisters had planned to cross the border on Tuesday but were delayed, possibly due to weather conditions, and crossed on Wednesday.
The flood is believed to have happened after a magnitude 5.2 seismic event near the Nepal-China border on Wednesday at 08:37 local time, according to the United States Geological Survey. Tulshi Patel last spoke to her mother and aunt on Monday and received a photo on Tuesday, with their last known location from a GPS signal at Friendship Bridge.
