A new Washington Post-ABC poll suggests that most Americans believe President Donald Trump is using his presidency for personal financial gain. The survey also indicates that the US president's approval rating has fallen to 33%.
According to the poll, 66% of Americans, including 34% of Republicans, believe Trump is using his position to enrich himself. This figure represents a 12-point increase from September of last year.
The poll also found that 48% of respondents feel financially worse off than when President Trump returned to office in January 2025. This is reportedly the highest percentage in this series of polls since 1986 for any president.
Ahead of November's midterm elections, 75% of Americans rated economic conditions as either "not so good" or "poor". Additionally, 67% of those surveyed said President Trump is not committed to protecting freedom of the press.
