Members of Parliament have accepted almost £400,000 in hospitality, including tickets to concerts, sport matches, and other events, this year. Louise Haigh, Lucy Powell, and Wes Streeting are among those who have accepted tickets.
This figure, covering declarations between January and July, suggests an increase from the approximate £300,000 declared in 2025. The disclosures include £858 for a Harry Styles concert at Wembley, £1,839 for the Chelsea Flower Show, and £3,432 for hospitality at the Brit Awards.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham declared about £6,000 in hospitality this year, largely linked to his former role as Greater Manchester mayor. Other notable acceptances include £1,480 for the men’s Wimbledon singles final by Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander and £1,314 for the Ivor Novello awards by Anneliese Midgley, now chief whip.
Both Labour and Conservative MPs have accepted hospitality. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch accepted Wimbledon tickets worth £1,360, while shadow chancellor Mel Stride took £1,839 of hospitality for the Chelsea Flower Show.
