Mrs Justice Morgan appointed Judicial Commissioner for 3 years

His Majesty The King has approved the appointment of The Honourable Mrs Justice Morgan DBE as a Judicial Commissioner.

His Majesty The King has approved the appointment of The Honourable Mrs Justice Morgan DBE as a Judicial Commissioner of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC). This appointment, made on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, is for a three-year term that began on 1 October 2026.

The JAC is an independent body responsible for selecting candidates for judicial office in courts and tribunals across England and Wales, as well as for some tribunals with UK-wide jurisdiction. Commissioners for the JAC are appointed by His Majesty The King, following a recommendation from the Lord Chancellor, in accordance with the Constitutional Reform Act 2005.

Mrs Justice Morgan DBE was called to the Bar in 1988 and took Silk in 2011. Her judicial career includes appointments as a Recorder in 2009, a Deputy High Court Judge in 2019, and a High Court Judge (Family Division) in 2022. In 2023, she was appointed as the Family Presiding Judge for Wales.
