Mumford & Sons sparked pure pandemonium at BST Hyde Park last night, conjuring up an unforgettable atmosphere that left thousands in awe. The band's decade-long journey since their inaugural headline slot was marked with a blistering performance that even managed to top the curve – courtesy of surprise appearances from global superstars Shania Twain and Hozier! As they took to the Great Oak Stage on July 4, 2026, to support their recently released sixth studio album, 'Prizefighter', it was clear this was going to be a night to remember.
Marcus Mumford's opening declaration – "Good evening my friends, we’re Mumford & Sons and after all this time, in our hometown, we didn’t come to f*** around" – sent the London-based crowd into raptures. The band then unleashed a string of fan-favourite anthems, including 'I Will Wait', 'White Blank Page', 'Lover Of The Light', 'Hopeless', and 'Badlands', setting the tone for an electrifying evening.
But it was about to get even better – or rather, more epic! Mumford's introduction of Hozier as "the kindest man in music" set the stage for a truly unforgettable collaboration. The Irish singer-songwriter joined forces with Mumford & Sons on 'Rubber Band Man', followed by an exhilarating rendition of 'Awake My Soul' that sent shivers down thousands of spines.
And, just when you thought it couldn't get any more dramatic, the band dropped another tantalising hint before Marcus Mumford revealed the arrival of none other than Shania Twain. The Canadian country music legend, still riding high from her Wembley Stadium stint with Harry Styles earlier that night, joined forces with the band for 'Here', a track originally recorded with Chris Stapleton. Mumford's heartfelt praise of Twain as his "f***ing hero" was met with equal admiration from the veteran singer, who exclaimed it was "so awesome" to be there.
As Twain took centre stage, the Hyde Park crowd erupted into cheers, and she responded by asking, "What are we going to do now? Are we going to jam out something sassy?" The resulting performance of her iconic hit, 'Man! I Feel Like A Woman!', was nothing short of phenomenal. As the evening drew to a close, Mumford & Sons delivered a poignant rendition of 'The Cave', with Marcus offering a heartfelt thank you and expressing he was "lost for words" – a fitting end to an unforgettable night.
