A murder investigation has begun in Battersea, south London, after a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed near Lavender Hill in the early hours of Saturday. The boy was found injured and received medical treatment, but tragically died at the scene, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The incident occurred on Glycena Road, near the junction with Lavender Hill, at approximately 04:20 BST. Police officers, paramedics, and the London Air Ambulance were called to the scene following reports of a stabbing, believed to have been linked to a possible altercation.
A large crime scene is in place, with several surrounding roads closed off. The police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with video footage of the area to come forward, particularly those who may have seen a group of males running in the area between 04:00 and 05:00.
Metropolitan Police Det Ch Insp Brian Howie said, 'Our inquiries are progressing intensively, and our thoughts remain firmly with the victim's family at this extremely difficult time. I understand this incident will cause significant concern within the community.'
