National Lottery Heritage Fund Trustees' terms extended

The terms of Mukesh Sharma and James Twining as Trustees of The National Lottery Heritage Fund have been extended.

  • Mukesh Sharma's second term has been extended by four months, from 30 August 2026 to 29 December 2026.
  • James Twining's first term has been extended by six months, from 30 November 2026 to 29 May 2027.
  • These extensions were made by the previous Prime Minister.

The terms of two Trustees on The National Lottery Heritage Fund Board have been extended. Mukesh Sharma's second term has been extended by four months, commencing from 30 August 2026 to 29 December 2026. James Twining's first term has been extended by six months, commencing from 30 November 2026 to 29 May 2027.

These extensions were made by the previous Prime Minister. Both appointments were made in accordance with the Cabinet Office's Governance Code on Public Appointments, and James Twining and Mukesh Sharma have declared no significant political activity.

Mukesh Sharma, who was awarded an OBE in The King’s Birthday Honours 2026 for services to heritage, serves on the boards of several charities. James Twining is Chair and Chief Executive of Wren Sterling and also chairs the Audit and Risk Committee of The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
